All signs point to yes. MMO Champion has seldom been wrong about these things. The Shattering is coming, and Azeroth is doomed!
With luck, the “old world” changes will be implemented tomorrow, November 23rd. This day marks World of Warcraft’s 6th anniversary! For a run-down of what 4.0.3a will enable, please visit http://www.mmo-champion.com and read up on what is about to happen.
Obviously, the highlight for me will be the ability to roll a Sunwalker, aka a Tauren Paladin. Also, the zones in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms are forever changing, opening up new questlines and story advancements. We’re losing Cairne and gaining his son Baine; Thrall has temporarily stepped down as Warchief, and Garrosh Hellscream has been appointed to the position in his stead; Magni Bronzebeard will be turned to stone; and much, much more.
I hear the new Forsaken leveling experience in Tirisfal and especially Silverpine has been revamped so exquisitely it is being heralded as some of the best content in the game yet. I can’t wait to try that out — on another alt. Alhazad will be leveling through Mulgore, the Barrens, and Stonetalon Mountains. I’m psyched.
I can’t wait.
The release of Cataclysm is still on track for December 7th. This will open up the new ‘expansion only’ zones, like Deepholm, Vashj’ir, Hyjal, and more. The ability to use our flying mounts in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms will also be made available — finally! Perhaps most anticipated is the availability of Goblin and Worgen characters.
